Rachael Johnson, Educational Content Director
Rachael Johnson is a licensed school counselor who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business Management, and her Master’s Degree in School Counseling. She has taught at the elementary level, worked in special education in the public school setting as well as the group home setting, and worked with children as a counselor helping students reach their potential academically, personally, and vocationally. Rachael has experience writing individualized plans for students to maximize their growth and success. Currently employed as a school counselor, Rachael stays well-informed of the state and national standards and mandates in education. She consults with colleagues, parents, administrators, students, and community members regularly on interventions, effective teaching methods, special needs of students, and evidence-based resources. Rachael is committed to increasing effectiveness and efficiency in the classroom. She believes educators can accomplish this by making decisions based on relevant and timely data, building relationships with students, incorporating twenty-first century learning, and utilizing available technology.

John W. Bates, Chief Executive Officer
Prior to founding Digital Winds, John started ADVON Systems, Inc and WHISPr Networks providing systems engineering for converged technologies into transit case based hardware and software solutions for the Defense and First Reponse sectors. With over 22 years in IT, he has been a part of several pioneering technologies including IRIS (Internet Router In Space) and RAIDRS satellite defense countermeasure programs. John provided engineering to the Digital Deployable Training Campus (DDTC) a US Army program that supported multiple satellite linked e-learning platforms in Iraq and Afghanistan. An Alumn with Colorado Technical University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and earning a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology. John is currently attending the University of Maryland pursuing an MBA in International Business. As a 12 year Navy veteran, he has travelled the world earning campaign medals in Desert Shield/Storm and Kosovo. John currently resides in Monument, Colorado with his wife and daughter.

John R. Johnson, Chief Technology Officer
John is a telecommunications and electronics specialist with eight years of experience. He serves his country as a member of the United States Air National Guard where he received his telecommunications and electronics training. His military career began in Louisiana, and he later moved to Colorado where he continues to serve. He was involved in state deployments during Hurricane Katrina and on Task Force Gator. John also spent part of his career providing in-depth technical support for Hewlett Packard. John was instrumental in the Louisiana Air National Guards transition from Tri Tac to Theater Deployable Communication. John also served as an LMR engineer for Nana Pacific where he assisted in the design, build and deployment of disaster response communications systems. He was a vital member of the research and development team creating new ways to provide communications. He is currently conducting extensive research on the needs in our educational systems and studying Computer Science at Adam State.
